Danceworks Debrief

Wow! After four intense days of competition at Danceworks #2 in Red Deer, Alberta, our Competition Team once again came out on top. This was our second competition of the 2015 – 2016 dance season and we couldn’t be happier with the results.

Our team made up of 74 top dancers competed in 80 routines over the course of the competition. Dancers competed in various routines in jazz, tap, ballet, contemporary, and hip hop.

The Showdown is a prestigious “second round” where top routines are invited to compete one final time for the adjudicators. Seven of the 21 routines invited to the Showdown were from PMDC. The results from this year’s Showdown are:

  • Wizard of Oz – 1st place in the Junior 8 & Under Group
  • Amelia & Sierra’s Duet – High score in the Junior 8 & Under Duo/Trio Group
  • Gabby & Leslie’s Duet – High score in the 12 – 14 Year Duo/Trio Group
  • Put Your Hands Up – Adjudicator’s Choice and 1st runner up
  • Work! – 2nd place in the 9 – 11 Duo/Trio Group
  • Time – Adjudicator’s Choice, 1st place in the Showdown, and Grand Champion
  • Hot!
  • Chelsea’s Solo – High score and the Adjudicator’s Choice
  • Aurora’s Solo – High score in the Junior 8 & Under Group
  • Chloe’s Solo – High score in the 9 – 11 Year Group
